What do hospitals, daffodils and Youtube have in common? Not much.. but that is what my week has been full of...
Hospitals
Monday night I suddenly got a severe attack of vertigo... head spinning, falling over, throwing up - the whole shebang... and just when DH was away on a business trip!
20 hours after it started I still couldn't sit or stand up for long, so I called emergency and had my very first ride in an ambulance!
I must say, I was very impressed with the whole process - they were quick and really good. It took two and a half hours from calling emergency to getting a bed.... and then another 5 hours before I got to see the doctor! That last part took a while, but there were obviously more urgent cases that needed attention before I did.
The doctor was really good. She did some tests and decided it was something to do with my ears, probably left over from my head cold last week.
I was sent home with medication and orders to rest... only after they made sure I could walk without falling over...
.... which I have been doing, with my feet up and a quilt on my legs...
Daffodils
From my recliner I can see the daffodils I planted a little while ago on the front porch...
Since I planted them quite late, they are rather stunted... but still pretty...
The tulips are also popping up, I wonder if they will still flower...
YouTube
The first two days of vertigo I could not sit up for a long time, so I was mostly in bed. Day three, however, I was able to sit up and I decided I'd do a bit of "work" while I was "resting"
I did a bit of "work" on my ipad, finishing up the "Summer" wall hanging so I am planning on starting that next week...
And then I decided to start working on my YouTube channel...
Bet you didn't know I had one of them, right?
Well, I do and I don't... I claimed the name back in 2016, and then never got around to doing anything with it.
For the past few years I have been wanting to start doing videos - to accompany my tutorials, blocks of the month and sewalongs. But life is busy, so nothing had come of it.
Last month I decided to sign up for a course, to help me get the ball rolling... and then to make sure I keep at it, I've decided to share the news with you guys, to keep me accountable!
This is what my channel looks like at the moment:
Note it says:
"No Subscribers"
"No Videos"
I thought it would be fun to take that screen shot as a "before" photo... and see how the channel grows..
I also thought it'd be fun to ask you, my lovely blog friends, if you have a youtube account, to go and subscribe - then you'll get notified when I put my first video up!
I have to tell you I am super excited... but also terrified!
It is going to be a huge learning curve... but I love teaching and I hope that this will be a natural extension of my blog and me being able to share my quilting and stitching obsession with you!
I will still be resting a bit more for the rest of the week and the weekend, but hopefully I will get into the sewing room again soon.
Until then, tell me, what kind of videos do you like watching on YouTube? Tutorials? Sew with Me? Boring Put You To Sleep At Night Videos..?!
