There are tons of ways to store a quilt! In fact, most of them are in use in my household. Between the linen closet, master closet, over the couch back, and over chairs, we have quilts all over the house. That doesn't count the ones being used on the beds or rotated through! I've been a quilter for a while, and so there are quite a few in the house! One of my favorite ways to display a quilt is a ladder. This allows for several quilts, sometimes related to one another, to be shown in a way that doesn't take up much space.
We also have two cats who seem to think that every quilt belongs to them. One of the cats is a tuxedo kitty, so her fur is dark and there is plenty of it. She's been the death of a quilt or two. The other cat is orange and white, and he likes to use his claws in a quilt to kneed the quilt and generally play in and under it. The two of them make me want several quilts to be wall quilts only! =}
The quilt ladder keeps the quilt out of their range and means that I don't have to babysit my quilts during the day or night when the cats get a wild hair or want to fight over them. I love it for display, and I love it for keeping my more special quilts safe!
Do you have special quilts? Ones that took you a ton longer than expected, or just have special meaning to you? Those are the ones that end up on the ladder most of the time. This one's here because I want to write up the pattern at some point. But also for the patriotic holidays. Soon it will be time for me to find some things closer to fall colors to go there!
I hope your weekend goes well!
