Chaplain's Chat
Psalm 46:1-4,11 "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though it's waters roar and foam, and the mountains quake with their surging. There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. vs 11 The Lord Almighty is with is; the God of Jacob is our fortress."
We face stress every day. We eat stress with breakfast, we drive to work with it or sit next to it on public transport, we even dream about it at night. As hard as we may try, we cannot control the pressures that bombard us; unreasonable workloads, financial worries, relationship struggles, loss of employment, life-threatening diseases, or the loss of a loved one. Whether we create the crisis ourselves, or they attack us from the outside, our efforts at preventing disasters fall short.
Most definitely, in certain situations we need to act. But when we relinquish control to God, we leave the results in His hands, because we realize that we never had control over them to begin with. So when the pressures of life threaten to crush you and you're called to action, God says; "Be still and know that I am God". (Psalm 46:10).
Let the peace that He gives, meet you where you live. Let His grace become your resting place. And with the burden that you bear come into His Presence, and there you will find, He's all you need. (Billy Foote)
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your provision in our lives. You offer so much yet ask for very little in return, except to give You our hearts, to love and trust You with our lives. Thank You for blessing us with the families and friends that we have, and for loving us with everything that You have. In Jesus Name. Amen
