Guaranteed Hope
Most products we buy come with some form of warranty. If it doesn't work, we can return it. God's guarantee exceeds all our expectations. The Holy Spirit works continually in us, giving us hope, power and life – abundant and eternal. He is the guarantee that can never be surpassed. (Philippians 2:13 "for it is God Who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure".)
2 Corinthians 5:4 (5)-7 "For we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed but further clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life. Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also has given us the Spirit as a guarantee. So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord. For we walk by faith and not by sight."
As we live by faith in this world, our hope is not in our own abilities, but God Himself our hope- our guarantee of eternal life. Our Lord and Friend is the one who has done the work to prepare us for our wonderful destiny in His kingdom – we are His workmanship.
So we can let go of the responsibility to be and do everything perfectly today. Holy Spirit is our Help in all things. We can lean into His Presence and rely on Him for wisdom, support, and guidance. There is peace in His Presence and His solutions are full of simple wisdom and clarity. He is trustworthy.
2 Corinthians 5:5 The Passion Translation "There is no empty hope, for God Himself is the One who prepared us for this wonderful destiny. And to confirm this promise, He has given us the Holy Spirit, like an engagement ring, as a guarantee."
