With the kids back in school for the last month (all of them now, since our youngest is in grade 1), I've been starting to sneak in some little carpentry projects into "the cracks."
This is something I used to do way back when … but haven't taken time for in YEARS!
My skills are certainly limited and I feel some resistance when it comes to "polishing" or sanding my work (I'll definitely have to work through this), but the journey has been fun so far.
I started with a simple blanket ladder for the living room, then moved on to creating a couple of these hockey equipment drying racks for my big girls (yes, we have two in hockey again this year ... it's definitely going to be another busy winter!).
I'm hoping this helps keep things organized for everyone and we can minimize the drama that comes with "I can't find my … (insert whatever piece of equipment they cannot find)!"
Such satisfaction from creating something functional / useful that never existed before
