Over the weekend, Doc and I went to the sewing and quilting expo in the next town over. It was a good afternoon of looking at quilts, shopping, chatting, and then a QOV award ceremony after that!
I saw quite a few quilts I liked, and so did Doc, but this one was my favorite. I love the negative space and the on-point setting. Look for something on-point from me in the next few months to a year, because I love the look of it. If I'm honest, I know I have quilts in the making that are destined to become on point quilts!
There was lots of fun chatting with vendors, other quilters, and attendees in general. But the highlight of the afternoon was getting to be a part of awarding three Quilts of Valor. It's always a pleasure to award quilts to veteran or service personnel who have been touched by war. I do think the quilt maker gets as much out of the experience as the awardee!
I hope you're doing well. It's been a busy fall already for me, with family, friends, and quilt obligations. I'm hoping for a little down time to hand quilt soon! Taking that time for prayer and quiet reflection often helps me put life into perspective! I'm wishing you a little time for reflection and hand work too!
