If this is your day for rest, like us all you still need encouragement. Be encouraged today by this wonderful verse from Philippians 4 Verse 8:
Philippians 4 verse 8; "Finally brothers {or sisters}, whatever is true, whatever is honorable. whatever is just. whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable— if there is any moral excellence and if there is any praise—dwell on these things."
We are called to discipline our thought life When we become 'born-again',old things pass away. all things become new.. but do we allow this newness of life to invade our thought life.
Galatians 2 verse 20; "And I no long live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in The Son of God. Who loved me and gave Himself for me".
Live by faith, which requires discipline in our lives. The word 'discipline would lead many people to cringe, but our road to self-discipline requires a complete surrender to Our Lord and Our Friend.. One of the major areas of our lives that needs self-discipline is our thoughts.
We are instructed to bring our thoughts under control by focusing on the things that are true, noble. right. pure and lovely. which is the way Our Lord and Our Friend is. The real truth about Philippians 4 verse 8. is the writer who was Paul, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, tells us to what to focus on. not one is negative.
Set our minds, on Kingdom positives, because if we constantly think about things that are untrue, negative, wrong or impure, then the very disharmony of these things will invade us and pervade us.
Self-disciplining our thoughts, to focus on that which is good, right, lovely and the next verse will be with us. "The God of peace will be with us', direct our thoughts to Our Lord and Our Friend. See Him in every aspect of our lives in our imaginations. To think on Him is to ask for His help. not just in our thought life, but in everything we do.
Be Blessed today And Everyday,
