Something that's, interesting, on the consultation of "does this make me look pretty", from the mother to the son, as the son could, care LESS about the styles of attires that his mother was, dressed in…translated…
My youngest son is my attire consultant, but not my, eldest. Unless I had to, when there were, NO other, options, I wouldn't, go to eldest to ask him questions of this, sort.
One weekend, I'd, specially set aside the time for two for my eldest son and I, to let his younger pair of twin brothers who loved to bicker at home with their father. And, as I walked out of the house, I'd recalled, that I'd, forgotten to check if I was dressed, okay, yesterday, I'd, dressed in white shirt black slacks, after my youngest son approved, and, today, I'd put on that camel colored dress that I hadn't worn for many years, after I'd slimmed back down.

I'd wanted to know if I looked fitted into the dress, and so, I could only ask my eldest, "does mom look fat in this?", he'd responded, "you're okay!", I'd prodded on, "do I look thin?", response, "you're okay!"
Ahhh, that's not like answering my questions at all, but I'd, still, chose to interpret it positively, and yet, he'd stated, in a, plain tone of voice, "Didn't you wear what you're wearing yesterday?", the invisible lines started, shotting down from my head then, so, there are those, who are, completely, blind in the sight, and/or the mind to ask, thankfully, the way I'd dressed, had always been, to please my own, self.
Who cares! Self-confidence would be, attractive, enough, so I shall, just, soak up in the My Fair Lady moment for today then!
So, this is a son with a more practical head on his shoulders, and, you'd asked the wrong person, now this kid may have a sense of style, but he just, doesn't care for that, and, you have your other son, the youngest, to consult on whether or not you'd, dressed well enough, and that should do it, it's just, that on this, particular occasion, you're out with the son that is, without, ANY sense of, "style", and you have to, deal with it yourself.
