Lately, I have read that after all that's been said and done about multitasking... It actually isn't a thing. What am I doing then right now? I put seven jars of deer meat in jars this morning and got them canning. The process will take a couple hours while I do dishes, make a smoothie, sit down to my puzzle, and either blog or listen to music while I eat and work my puzzle. So what is this?
There's a gusty breeze this morning that is blowing the wood smoke west past the window. I feel like we could get flurries today out of that grey sky. And there are still leaves flying around. Maybe though, the sun will show for a little like they said and we'll have 50 degrees today ... Maybe.
My brother, Eric, who has always marched to a different drummer than my other brothers sent our sibling group a little audio clip of someone reading Thanksgiving morning liturgy. At 6:30, first thing, it was nice and I appreciated it. I suppose the West siblings could have been annoyed at their 4:30 time.
Writing every day is a challenge mid-November, at the end of harvest, the beginning of daily firewood chores, and just before the Holidays. But I want the discipline of it, even when my lack of ideas shows. I want to push on by slowing down enough to think about things and take time to write them out. It seems like I'm posting a whole line of rough drafts ... Really rough drafts, for my poor friends to read.
I'm off to work soon. Rosie says we have a hickory piece with a fireplace in it. And we have lush, six-foot hemlock garlands to sell that aren't being presented well at all. My job is to put those two together so that we sell both the fireplace and the garland. Hopefully the needed mantel piece can be found, too. So that's my fun plan to figure out for today. I have a fun job.
Cheers.
