A "celebration of James Bond" is scheduled for next month in London centered on a new Bond novella and a screening of a classic 007 film.
The gathering will be Dec. 5, Ian Fleming Publications announced today.
The event will begin with a discussion between Charlie Higson and Simon Ward, publishing director of Ian Fleming Publications. Higson wrote On His Majesty's Secret Service, published earlier this year to tie in with the coronation of King Charles III.
The short book is a timeshifted tale, with references to present-day political figures. Higson defended the book in posts on social media from criticism that On His Majesty's Secret Service was too political.
There will also be a screening of 1969's On Her Majesty's Secret Service, the sixth Bond film made by Eon Productions. After the screening, Higson will be selling copies of his book.
The event starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Everyman Broadgate cinema. Tickets cost £22.00 and can be purchased from the IFP website.
