Restore us (restore us to health as a withered hand, bring us back from the dead, bring us back, turn us back, cause us to repent, bring us back home, restore us from captivity), O God … Psalm 80:8
withered heart
never really worked right
born broken
then crushed
by cruel desperation
greedily sucking out
life to fill
another withered heart
desiccated love
ungiven
shriveled affirmation
unhidden derision
abandoned yet
commanded to
be
impossible beings
a withered heart
cannot
but then
your Voice
"Stretch out your heart"
I suck in gasping
your Breath
resuscitation
reconstitution
re-creation
"I AM — be!"
Then [Jesus] said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." So he stretched it out and it was completely restored, just as sound as the other. Matthew 12:13
