One of the last things to come out of the garden are the root vegetables. This year I grew some carrots and parsnips. Carrots have been coming out all along, but parsnips seem to take most of the summer to mature, so I hadn't checked on them in awhile.
The first few looked pretty normal, and good sized.
This parsnip is about the size of the larger ones you'd see at the store.
The next is a bit bigger:

… and then, just plain weird:
I'm not sure if we're growing root vegetables or baby aliens.
This does kick off the soup season nicely, though!
