| Arla Nov 9 | The sun comes up far in the east and south position, low in the sky, afraid to climb up now. It lands high on the wall, coming in obliquely ... I can't sit in it. It seems weak, not warm and yellow. It reminds me of last summer when smoke covered the sun in an orange film. We got used to it until it cleared. Then everyone felt the yellow of sun and blue of sky and we were glad. I don't know why, but quite a few leaves still cling to the cottonwood trees outside our house. This morning that meager sunshine slants through the window catching the flutter of leaves blowing in the wind creating a lovely leaf dance on the wall behind the stove. Whoever would know we could have leaves in November for the sunshine to dance with, that I could enjoy it with my morning coffee. As the sun climbs up it's short ladder it brightens the whole world and it's going to be an amazing fall day. Elv called to say, "Let's do firewood again this evening." It'll be dark but we'll have the memory of this kind of day to cheer us. Knowledge of winter days of snow and cold coming to spur us. I'm thinking about how the Creator of the sun and the leaves can do as He wants. God of the universe Who can provide leaf dances in November can heal broken hearts and save souls in the most "unlikely" situations. | | | | You can also reply to this email to leave a comment. | | | | |
