Transformation Continuing
Pentecost means 'fiftieth', because the feast was held fifty days after the festival of First Harvest {First fruits}. Leviticus 23 Verse 15 to 22:
The calendar of Festivals in Leviticus 23 is an outline of the work of Jesus Christ.
Passover pictures the death of Christ as the Lamb of God. John 1 Verse 29: "The Next day John saw Jesus coming towards him and said, 'Here is the Lamb of God, Who takes away the sin of the world!"
The festival of the First harvest pictures the resurrection from the dead. 1 Corinthians 15 Verse 20 to 23:
Using Verse 20: "But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits."
Fifty days after First Harvest is the festival of Pentecost, which pictures the formation of the church at Pentecost. The Old Testament the people celebrated the giving of the law, but Christians celebrate this day because of the giving of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 2 Verses 1 and 4:
Verse 1: "When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place".
Verse 4: "Then they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different languages, as the Spirit gave them ability to speak".
Let The Holy Spirit transform your life just as happened on The day of Pentecost.
They went from hiding in a room to transformed and transforming witnesses for Our Lord Our Redeemer and Friend, that changed their known world and is still transforming the world today.
God Bless,
OFJ
