A few years ago, I participated in a sew along on Instagram called the #sunnydaystockingsal. The idea was to take a diamond shape (from the Sunny Day Supply blog) and make a panel for the front of the stocking. After many, many fabric pulls that season, I settled on a low volume and pinkish set of fabrics for my stocking!
In the stocking on the right, I used some kissing bunny fabric along with several floral and pink fabrics! One of the florals I used was a piece of fabric I picked up at a Haberdashery in the UK on a trip there. I love the way it came out!
The stocking on the left is for my husband, so it was made using green kissing bunny fabric and some bolder colors. The argyle effect came out so good! I love the fact that they are similar but different!
We have a set of family stockings that we've been using for 30 years. But as children leave the nest in the next few years, we know it will be the two of us again soon enough. These two stockings are for display right now but will definitely be used in the coming years! We aren't looking forward to an empty nest, but there are definitely things that will make the transition easier!
