Mega Grace
Luke 2:10 "Then the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which will be to all people".
A familiar verse we see on many Christmas cards at this time of year. As we look at Luke chapter 2, we see that Caesar had decreed that everyone in the world needed to be registered in their own city. Consequently Joseph and Mary journeyed to Bethlehem because he was of the lineage of David. While they were there Mary (v7) brought forth her firstborn Son, wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn".
(V8) tells of the shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night (v9) an angel of the Lord stood before them, the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid.
There are many today who are greatly afraid for differing reasons; people feeling hopeless and in despair as they look at events in the world, and even in their families and local areas. I think we can take to heart this word which the angel spoke to the shepherds….
"Do not be afraid – I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people." That is good tidings =(good news), of great joy = (mega grace) and it's available to all people (all).
Truly the gospel is good news. With Jesus, our Lord and Friend, is fullness of grace and truth. Let's be aware to share this with family, friends, and others, in this season when many people are open to the good tidings of the Christmas message. His mega grace is sufficient in every area of our lives.
Be blessed with peace, love and joy to share.
