Take a breath, now it is time to make a budget for next year's holiday season and put a monthly amount toward the season. Sit down with your spouse and work out next year's budget.
Holiday clearance is a time to shop for brithdays coming in January through March. Our granddaughter has requested a Barbie Dream House Room. Some items we purchased and other we made. We were able to redo her entire room for under 150 dollars.
The beginning of the year, look at your internet, insurance and see if you can get a discount.
Turkeys are on sale for 50 cents a pound at my local Walmart. My husband and son eat turkey sandwiches every day. Deli meat is expensive. I slice a turkey up for sandwiches.
Stock up on goods that are on clearance that will keep for a period of time and you will use. I also stock up on things that wear out quickly or use a lot of . We live an hour away from quality stores.
Digital newspaper subscriptions are inexpensive compared to print. We often do not receive our mail until 6 p.m. I can read our daily paper, my hometown newpaper , and the Washington Post for the price of 1 print subscritption. My husband was not on board with it until I purchased him a Kindle on Amazon Cbyer days.
Groceries continue to be a rising expense. Planning multiple meals from the same ingredients. I will making two meals from our Christmas Eve and Christmas dinner meals. From Christmas Eve's artichoke and spinach dip. I will be making artichoke and spinach pasta with the left garlic breadsticks as a side. For dinner, the leftover pot roast from last night's dinner will vegetable beef soup. I use this method a lot to make easy hot lunches.
