We had Orkin come in and take care of the pest issue. The issue was the fridge that the tenant brought in. I was very lucky I had a heater serving in to do a check up on the tenant. I always use this practice when I can't be there for a move -in. I had the fridge removed. We arrived at the house, it was wide open. They hadn't locked the house up. There was piles of dog waste.
The house had been treated. I am furious. Their previous landlord knew about the issue. The tenant "made up" a story that they couldn't rent the house.
We found a new tenant. One of the local churches notified me that they had a family in urgent need of housing. I was upfront about the pest issue and the Orkin manager speak with them. So, the house is rerented. This has been the highest turnover rate we ever had. it is very discouraging to complete the adevetising, interviewing process to obtain appropriate tenants.
We left Wedneday with all our meals prepped. The kids completed two of their finals. We corrected the issues with the house. The new tenants are in. We had planned to be on the road until Monday. We were relieved to be walking in at 8:30 this evening. We didn't eat a single meal out.
I am exhausted. The roads were slick as there was heavy snow through Denver.
