Happy new year everyone! I truly hope 2024 treats you kindly and that there will be more blessings in store for you this year.
For the newer readers, for the last two to three years I pick a word that I want the theme of my new year to be. For 2023 that word was 'prosperity', 2022 I chose 'manifestation' and for 2021 I didn't have a word per say but I dedicated that entire year to my personal growth and development, my career, my happiness and my future. Knowing how I wanted to start my year and having something to align it with made it easier to identify the opportunities that supported what I envisioned and wanted for myself.
For 2024 I had to really think about it and I decided that this year I didn't want a word but rather a phrase: reset and grow.
Why specifically reset and grow? In 2022 I changed residences and changed jobs, essentially leaving behind everything I knew and was familiar with. That meant I spent the entire of 2023 developing a new skill (aka driving), dealing with a nightmare commute (I Detest Vehicular Traffic), and navigating a new job in a new sector and new field. Then Kevin and I also decided to try for a baby which has been its own struggle. The prosperity came, but the year itself was filled with lots of ups and downs resulting in an internal desire to wipe the slate clean and start everything from ground zero.
The intention for this year is to consider every aspect of my life as starting from day one. Savings, career, family, health, daily routines you name it - I'm starting over. But I'm starting over from experience.
My goals for 2024 also aligns with the "reset and grow" mindset. I am hoping by adopting this and following through with my plans that I am able to improve myself holistically while finding the parts of myself that I think I may have lost along the way. But that is a blog post for another time.
Let me know in the comments if you have a guiding word or phrase for 2024.
