| quiltiferous Jan 18 | It's January, and bad weather is beginning to set in here in the South of the US. I do a lot of cocooning during this time of year, just spending time cozy and warm inside. One of the habits I have during cold weather is reading! I picked up this antique book a few years ago. It has one of my favorite inspirational stories for Christmas in it, and I wanted the original source in my library. I had not taken time to read the rest of the sermons in the book until this winter. The book is really well written and compiled! I have to recommend it for understanding the breadth and depth of the love of God. The sermons inside are old, originally published in 1946. There's a certain plain-spokenness about them that I love. Seems like the older generations were open about things that we're not always open about. There's a truthfulness and candid way of speaking. It feels as though I'm reading revival preaching, which is wonderful! I hope you're having a wonderful week, and that you're finding fun things to do whether it's cold or hot outside where you live! Happy Friday! | | | | You can also reply to this email to leave a comment. | | | | |
