I have no real news to report other than the fact the General is providing exceptional care and anticipating anything stupid I could possibly do. She is setting up roadblocks to keep that from happening. Embarrassingly, she's staying busy. I can be challenging! Who would have thought?
I'm discovering a new level of empathy for folks who don't have the wherewithal to be mobile. I have never been a couch-potato and finding myself stuck in place is a new paradigm for me. The inability to roam the house freely at my every whelm is a big adjustment. Of course, my circumstances are temporary, but it has made me more sensitive to those for whom limitations seem permanent.
The many affirmations of prayer support and well-wishes sent my way are greatly appreciated. I am blessed a thousand times beyond my deserving. As I look toward the future, I'm eager for Ronnie's celebration of life service on February 3rd. I'll still be off my feet, but I'm finding the knee scooter or (rocket launcher as I call it) will afford stabilized mobility.
I'm certain the General has already recruited my son and oldest grandson to keep Granddad in his place. My mother always said that if you give me an inch, I'll take a mile. Perhaps nothing much has changed.
I don't think of myself as headstrong, but I do like things done my way. Perhaps that is why the General has threatened to have , "He did it his way" one day carved into my headstone.
All My Best!
Don
