The apostle Paul encourages the believers at Colosse in Greece to sing.
Colossians 3 verse 16 " Let the message about the Messiah dwell richly among you, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, and singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in your heart to God."
Singing praises to God will give you a great release, if you are under pressure. A good reference for singing while you may feel the burdens of life is Acts 16 verse 25.
"About midnight Paul and Silas {who were in prison for their beliefs} were praying and singing Hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.
An amazing thing happened, we can read about it in Acts.
Acts 16 verse 26 Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the jail were shaken and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone's chains came loose.
i don't think that happened because the singing was bad, It was God honoring the faith of Paul and Silas as their singing was witnessing to the whole jail.
Paul tells us in Ephesians 5 verse 19 "to uplift one another, speaking to one another in psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making music to the Lord in your heart.
Psalm 33 verse 1 to 3 is about praising the Creator. Verse 1 Rejoice in the Lord
Verse 2 Praise the Lord
Verse 3 Sing a new song to Him
Psalm 47 verse 6 Sing praise to God sing praises.
We will be singing in Eternity Revelation 5 verse 9 "And they sang a new song"
Let the joy of the Lord fill you with a new enthusiasm and enjoy the power of praising and sing to Our Lord and Our Friend.
Lets finish with two verses of a well known hymn. My savior praise I will sing.
Verse 1My Savior praises I will sing, and all His love express. Whose mercies each returning day, proclaim His faithfulness.
Verse 3 On Thee alone, My Savior God, My steadfast hopes depend, And to Thy Holy will my soul, submissively would bend.
God Bless
