Ephesians 1 Verse 13: "In Him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation---in Him when you believed---were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit."
The verse identifies some very important functions of the Holy Spirit in our lives. The Holy Spirit puts His seal on us.
The Holy Spirit is God's guarantee to us that we are His.
What is the personal significance of these functions of the Holy Spirit?
For one thing, the seal speaks of a finished transaction. Even today, when important legal documents are processed, they are stamped with the official seal to signify the completion of the transaction.
A seal implies ownership. God has put His seal on us because He purchased us to His own. 1 Corinthians 6 verse 19 and 20.
A seal means security and protection. The Holy Spirit abides with the believer forever. Though it is possible for us not to always follow the Holy Spirit prompting, he does leave us.
Ephesians 4 Verse 30: "and do not bring sorrow to Gods' Holy Spirit, by the way you live, Remember He has identified you as His own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption".
This is only the beginning. There is always more spiritual blessings to claim from Our Lor and Ou Friend. The Bible is our guidebook. The Holy spirit is our teacher. As we search The Word, we will discover more and more of the blessing we have in Christ.
God Bless
