| Homemaking in the Dunes Jan 20 | My grandparents migrated from Canada to Maine in the early 1900's to work in the mills. I so wanted to like this book. I appreciate the author's need to write about native people's generational truama. Her writing falls short of examining the psychological plain of the characters. She certainly failed to capture the essence of Maine. My husband wanted him reading this book, he exclaimed, "If you hate that book so much, why finish it? No matter how I hate a book, I will finish it out of spite. This is the worse book I read THIS DECADE. The characters are flat, I left wondering if the author has even been to Maine. The setting was bland. | | | | | You can also reply to this email to leave a comment. | | | | |
