Whether you're the fun aunt, grandparent, or have simply been invited to an older child's birthday party. Shopping for a 3-year-old can be difficult! These toddlers are usually very active, good talkers and are starting to be more creative with playtime! That being said, they're still not ready for some of the "bigger kid" toys with smaller parts. Read the list below to find the perfect gift for that special 3-year-old in your life! Whether it's Christmas or birthday- you will be the favorite aunt if you show up with one of these goodies!
Our favorite 3-year-old toys for girls are all things princesses! These toddlers like to play dress-up! I highly recommend the company Little Adventures for dress-up clothes. They make very high-quality children's costumes for girls, boys, and dolls!
We currently eat, sleep, and play in this cute Elsa costume:
And they have a lot of good options for boys too! From pirates, to dinosaurs, to a firefighter and more- 3-year-old boys enjoy playing pretend too!
The next gift I recommend is magna-tiles! These are a crowd-pleaser for both kids and parents. The good thing is, if they already have some, they can add to their collection! These are a good size, have no tiny choking hazards, and are especially great if the family has a little sibling who is too young for leggos.
Tricycles are great gifts! These can be stored in the garage and are usually loved by parents who don't want to add any clutter to their living room, AND want their kids to get outside! A three-year-old is usually big enough to reach the peddles on most tricycles. Some parents also like to go for a balance-bike around this age, so they can start prepping for a big kid bike.
For girls, wooden dollhouses are sure to be a hit! I particularly love this doll house from Joanna Gaines' Hearth and Hand Collection at Target.
Picture books! By the time most kids turn three, they are ready to transition from simple board books to more advanced picture books! I find book shopping so nostalgic! Find a special story that you loved from your childhood, and write a note to the special birthday boy or girl!
