I awakened with the thought: "It is well with my soul". The General facilitated getting me into the sunroom even though it was still dark outside. She turned on the overhead light, and we were both surprised to see my brother, Larry, sitting at the other end of the sofa. He was drinking a cup of coffee.
I didn't have to ask what he was thinking about. I intuitively knew he was sorting through his thoughts about what he planned to share at our brother's celebration of life service. Though my notes are written, I also wanted some quiet time to reflect.
Larry left the room about the time the sun was coming up. At first glance, gray clouds seemed to be the order of the day. It was then that I noticed a small window of blue sky woven into the fabric of gray sky.
The sound of Willie Nelson then filled my head:
"Blue skies smilin' at me
Nothin' but blue skies do I see
Bluebirds singin' a song
Nothin' but blue skies from now on
I never saw the sun shinin' so bright
Never saw things goin' so right
Noticing the days hurrying by
When you're in love, my how they fly by
Blue days, all of them gone
Nothin' but blue skies from now on"
I suspect this is going to be the most wonderful of days. We have waited for this privilege for a very long time.
All My Best!
Don
