I closed my Youtube channel downlast a few nights ago. I put my videos on a thumbdrive and send them to my granddaughter. I had some very nasty comments that I didn't want to deal. My husband said to turn off the comments. I don't like to restrict the speech of others.
I slept in this morning after a rather sleepless night. We are having tenant issues. I cannot tolerate nonpayment. It distresses me. Nonpayment snowballs. We made a lot of repairs on the unit this past month. My husband is itching for another road trip. Our dog has a huge hot spot on her face and an ear infection. It required another vet appointment. Little fiscal hiccups that need to be attended to.
Sam's club isn't worth membership fee. My husband wanted tri tip. We picked up one and it had an off smell. I did find out that if you call about such issues, they refund you. Sam's Club is not a good deal for our family shopping day to day needs. We don't eat processed foods. I prefer my meat from our homestead and the ranch.Produce is not great, I don't begruge homemakers who buy these things for their family. Between my migraines and our son's gut health, it is best to cook and eat the way we do. The way that Sam Club works for me is spices, toilet paper, truck batteries, and glass ware.
Our school day was shorter than usual because the kids are ahead in their studies. They are watching Wonka. (Price 26.00, free with video credits, delay your shipping dates and Amazon gives you a buck). I also purchased West Side Story for 4.99.
Ways that I have saved money this week, we saved 202 on truck batteries, our truck takes two batteries. I saved on vet bill was a trade with 2 piglets. Our vet bill was 500 dollars. Apparently, it is known in town that I raise good tasting pork. He would love to have my fainting goat. I love her. She doesn't provide milk and I don't breed for. She is sweet and cuddles with new kids when goat gives birth.
Making my own health and beauty items, and cleaning supplies, I save the our health and create less waste. We strive to get to as close to zero waste as possible. Bringing less into our home, less packaging, reusing, and repurposing to reduce our carbon footprint.
We continue to reduce waste by using biodegradable cleaning brushes, toothbrushes, homemade swiffer mop heads, reusble paper towels, cleaning clothes, cleaning, and laundry soap. The amount of trash saved is 20 large trash bags a year.I also save about 2500 dollars a year. Every time I make a beauty product or cleaning product, I look at the store cost and subtract the cost of ingredients to make it. I put that money into savings. The first few years I saved more because I hadn't streamlined my products so I was saving more because I was replacing more products.
Reducing your carbon footprint is gently replacing items as they need to be replaced. Maybe, you make a face cream , then adding a cleanser to your next diy, and so on. We have eliminated about 90 percent of plastic from our lives. I pirmarily use glass, steel, and wood products. I have used the last of my plastic tupperware, and ziplock bags. I use silcone bags, muffin cups, and baking mats, and beewax cloth "plastic wrap".
Items that no longer by thus, eliminating waste and cost:
icecream
yogurt
sour cream
fruit dip
oat milk
cakes
cookies
crackers
breads
These are just few products. I use homemade yogurt to make icecream, sour cream, and fruit dip.
