Blessings and Challenges
Several years ago I read an article about seasons in life. The author was saying that he had thought there were seasons of blessings, and at other times, seasons of challenges. Then he came to understand that these both ran, side by side, like railway tracks. I have found this to be true and it has helped me to keep things in perspective.
Just recently, my youngest brother passed away and went home to be with the Lord. Although he had been unwell, it still came as a shock when we received the news that he has died. I come from a large family, with close cousins as well as siblings. For me, gathering together to remember our loved one has helped me to grieve and celebrate his life.
'Grieving allows us to heal, to remember with love rather than pain. It is a sorting process. One by one you let go of the things that are gone and you mourn for them. One by one you take hold of the things that have become part of who you are and build again. ' Rachel Naomi Remen
I love Psalm 23 - the Good Shepherd: knowing that our Lord and Friend is with us always, even in the darkest valleys; that He promises to lead us beside still waters and into green pastures; He restores and revives our lives. Verse 6 in the Passion Translation "so why would I fear the future? Only goodness and tender love pursue me all the days of my life. Then afterwards, when my life is through, I'll return to your glorious presence to be forever with you."
If you are grieving, we pray that the comfort of the Holy Spirit will be with you and the God of Hope would give you peace and rest in His amazing Presence.
