And I'm not feeling to fine…
*If you don't get the reference, you weren't a teen girl in the 90s locked in an epic battle of the boy bands*
Today, we move on from one host home to the next. *Sigh* Packing all of the things and schlepping them to a new place only to unpack them again. And eventually, we will have to do it all over again. *Double sigh*
I'm not a complainer. Doesn't do any good and I'd rather not waste time on it. I go with the flow. Solve the problem. Fix the issues. Make the hurts better. But, I can't fix this. I'm at the mercy of the housing market. And finicky home buyers. Ugh.
We've determined that HGTV has ruined people and given them ridiculous expectations when it comes to houses. Seriously people…stop walking in and expecting Magnolia Homes on a shoestring budget. Ain't gonna happen. Now, we have to contend with ridiculous comments like "the layout isn't what I was expecting" or "there's just so much updating that needs done".
Ummmmm…..let me whip out the pictures from when we bought and see if you make that comment. We saved you from mustard and gold sponge paint and chocolate pudding paint floor to ceiling. All I can do is roll my eyes. One time I rolled them so hard I got a headache.
But, as I roll my eyes at the craziness of persnickety home buyers, I remain speechlessly grateful at the generosity of others. Our new host family graciously opened space in their home for us while they take some time to travel. They could have easily asked people they've known longer than five weeks to house sit, but they asked us. Yeah, we literally moved into the jackpot of amazing people.
So, while I settle the snarky teen into another new space, I count my blessings and thank God over and over that my family doesn't have to live in a hotel or commute 45 minutes or anything crazy like that. We really are blessed to have been welcomed into such a wonderful community of awesome humans. Makes leaving our old community behind a little easier.
Now, if we could just get the home buyers with realistic expectations, understanding of a house built in 1970 with creative homeowners who can renovate nicely on a budget, to fall in love with our house we could really settle in and fold into our new community…..
They could have had this….
But we gave them this!!
