The takeaway "brownie points" from the elections, disregarding who won, and who, lost…off of the Front Page Sections, translated…
As the dusts had settled from the elections, the people's lives can finally, return, back to, norm. My good friend, Chang told me, that during the election, because of how close the races were, his elders, in their eighties, who'd supported the different candidates started, showing their supports to the different, candidates, rain or shine, other than trying to get the campaign trail going, they'd become, worried and lost sleep, gotten into fights with their close friends, exited out of the social contacts, like the elders were the ones, running for presidency.
Basically, thinking closely about it, elections aren't just an important part of democracy, it's even more like a mirror, reflecting the multiple sides of, life. In this process, we can see competition, cooperation, choices, disappointment, and hopes, etc., etc., etc., the various, elements. The hard work of every candidate, the persistence, and all the supporters' passions, and loyalty, it'd all become, a small segment that made up the whole of, life.
First, election allowed us to see the importance of values, and goals. Like how the candidates, fought hard continually, to the final victories, we also needed the goals of our lives, clear, so we can, keep our own directions, when we are in the midst of challenges and difficulties. While the reflections from the values of the elections, it'd showed of the importance of staying true to our values. In the process of the campaigns, there are, multitudes of temptations, pressures, it becomes difficult to hold true to the core values, it's the exact same path paved with the, challenges.
Secondly, other than being in competition with other candidates, the most important values of the elections are the honesty, and reputation. In the political stage, the candidates fought for the supports of the voters, showing their own abilities to rule, competing with their opponents. This is similar to the facets of life, like the interviews in the process of getting a job, or the competitions in business. Most importantly, the competitions aren't just between the opponents, it's also, an opportunity to make oneself, better. Like how in the elections, the candidates needed to keep on increasing ones' own abilities, to face up to the challenges that come their ways, in the process of life, we should also, keep on, learning from the falls, to grow, to change for the, better.
And, the competition and the cooperation in the elections, it's a needed lesson of life. In the competitions, the candidates are competing really hard, but they'd needed the campaign managers, the supporters, even needed to work with one's own opponents. Like in the developing of ones' own careers, we need to learn to work with others, to create a bigger, value together. Learning how to find that balance between competition and cooperation, is the key to reaching the goals.
Finally, the uncertainty from the elections, teaches us to learn to adapt, and to accept. There are, the unexpected in the elections, life is also, full of all the unexpected twists and turns. This reminded us to, stay agile and remain flexible, when we're faced with the uncertainties, to learn to find that opportunity in the changes, to grow in the challenges that presented themselves to us. Especially, there are bound to be winners and losers in the election, not every candidate will win, but, each and every attempt is a precious lesson. In life, we too, will come across the successes, and the failures, we must learn to face the defeats, more importantly, to learn from every single experience, to keep on, improving ourselves.
In sum, elections are not just a part of democracy, it's also, a mirror, reflect the assortments of scenes in our lives. And, from setting the goals, to staying persistent to the values that defined us, to create the values of cooperation from the competition, then to face the unexpected, all of these, we all need to, master in life.
And so, this is, how the election can affect us all, personally, not just on the fact that the individual we supported had won or lost, but, the bigger lesson behind all of this, is what we can, get out of this, what did the election teach us about our own, values, and how we can, keep on, pursue these goals that we set for ourselves in life.
