Joe very badly wants me to draw a bunch of very straight lines, very close to each other, in different colors. I struggle with the crayons and the lines, he's kind of yelling at me, NO STRAIGHTERRRRRRRRR! CLOSER TOGETHERRRRRRRRR! I think about a line I wrote and wonder if I'm actually an idiot, and if this is the moment where everyone learns that, simultaneously. Joe can sense this. Just do your best, mom. He hands me Purple. I know you're a good artist. Just do your best. I draw a crooked line. He returns to yelling at me. | | | |
