Introducing Equal Communities... the new brand for The Employers Forum's community and employment support service in Sheffield.
The new name is designed to fully encapsulate the provider's overarching aims - empowering Sheffield's workforce through meaningful interventions, support and education, and promoting 'a level playing field' for local people.
In the employment support arena, Equal Communities is focusing primarily on the south of the city, with new delivery sites in Lowedges and Batemoor/Jordanthorpe to complement its existing offer at Shipshape Health & Wellbeing Centre in Sharrow and at St Mary's Church, Conference and Community Centre in Bramall Lane.
UKSPF keyworker offer
As part of Equal Communities' offer, the provider will be offering keyworker support services for residents who need additional help accessing the labour market and sustaining employment.
The provider is delivering employment support services in South Sheffield as part of Opportunity Sheffield's Skills & Employability South Yorkshire Programme, which is part-funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
As part of this programme, Equal Communities also offers specialist employment support designed to address the common challenges faced by female members of Sheffield's Pakistani community in finding and sustaining work.
