The Covid -19 pandemic inspired me to be more holistic in our food supply, health and beauty, and to reduce our expenses. I was doing all the shopping and there were empty shelves in our rural area. We began to seriously grow our produce, eggs, and meats. I returned to the skills I had learned from great-grandmother and utilized as a single mother. When we were unable to find an item, I made it. I started using rechargable batteries again. We sat down as a family and decided we were not going to be victims of the price gauging that was going on. We brain stormed how to create the items we needed and wanted. The very first year of the pandemic, we needed to replace the heating sytem in the rental and found that our tenant was a hoarder.
