Scripture Verse of The Week
Faith Is the confidence, from Hebrews 11 Verse 1:
In another Translation it says, "Now faith is the reality [or assurance} of what is hoped for, the proof {or conviction} of what is not seen".
The opening verses of Hebrews 11 are not blind optimism or manufactured hope-so feeling. Neither is it an intellectual assent to doctrine. Faith does certainly not consist of belief in spite of evidence! That would be superstition,
True Bible faith is confidence obedience to God's Word despite circumstances and consequences.
Faith operates quite simply, God's Word speaks, and we hear His Word. We trust His Word and act on into matter what the circumstances are. And what the consequences might be.
Matthew 9 Verse 22; "Your faith has made you well".
The circumstances behind the woman she was not well {circumstance} but she trusts The Word {Jesus} and reached out {In a doing} and was healed.
Apply The Word, Trusting the Word, and Receiving from the Word.
Faith needs to be active in all our lives so we can grow in it more and more.
God Bless
