In March, I post to the Two Writing Teacher blog, for their blogging challenge.
Thank you for joining me for a coffee and a chat today.
Write with me today!
Baka Baka cafe in Reykjavik, Iceland
If we were having coffee I would tell you..the weather warmed up quite a bit this past week. I was able to go for a longer run on the trail early in the week which made me happy. The temperatures dropped as the week went on. I still walked with a friend which made the movement easier. Yesterday it was so windy I thought we were going to get blown off the road!
Writing Prompt: Write about a type of movement.
If we were having coffee I would tell you… my breakfast ritual with my husband this morning was lovely! The omelet was great and so was the company. We were able to secure our regular table and waitress so we were already winning from the beginning!
Writing Prompt: Write about your favorite warm beverage and why it is important to you.
If we were having coffee I would tell you…it is St Patty's Day so Chris will drink Guinness and I am making corned beef in the crockpot. I also picked up some soda bread from the local supermarket bakery. I have rye bread and I am making many potatoes which is customary in my house! The house will smell warm and yummy soon!
Writing Prompt: Write about green.
If we were having coffee I would tell you… I was surprised to discover the spring equinox is Tuesday! The 19th seems so early when it is normally on the 21st. I learned from my friend Mana that the spring equinox is the Persian New Year! It is always exciting for me to learn about new cultural traditions from my friends.
Speaking of cultural things….I am re-obsessed with Paris! I am rereading parts of A Moveable Feast by Hemingway and also waiting on a book called A Paris Year from the library. I was writing in response to the sample. Any recommendations for books about Paris I will take!
And yes, in case you are wondering, I am still obsessed with Iceland. Sadly, the volcano started erupting again yesterday and I am sending good vibes to my friends there.
Writing Prompt: Write about something you are obsessed with…or re-obsessed with.
If we were having coffee I would tell you…I have two friends who are going through The Artist's Way book and I was reminded of the ideal life exercise. You write about what is your ideal day and therefore what your ideal life is. Most times, there are small changes that you can make to bring you closer to your ideal. Contrary to popular belief, they don't usually involve money. One friend and I were talking about how it is about intentionally living rather than just going through the motions. Sometimes we get so bogged down with the everyday motions that we forget what lights us up! We sometimes also forget that our jobs are not the only identity we carry.
I am so blessed to have my ideal life every day now. I no longer wish to be somewhere else and I have Chris to thank for that fact. I also have an amazing relationship with my son who is close as well - physically and otherwise! I am a lucky girl!
Writing Prompt: Write about your ideal day.
If we were having coffee I would tell you …I am reading Anita De Monte Laughs Last by Xochitl Gonzalez and loving it so far! A podcast has brought me back to A Swim in a Pond in the Rain.
If we were having coffee I would tell you …this Sunday is about breakfast, writing, reading, walking and enjoying my day! I feel I could go on and on today about things that are lighting me up but you have things to do too!
Thank you for joining me for coffee today. If you write to any of the prompts I would love to hear about it.
