Thursday's homestead began with going to my accupuncture appointment for my migraine, neck, and shoulder issues. I did a lot of driving on the way home from our last trip. I made almond cookies this afternoon. I decided to spend the early morning in abstemoius activities in the house. If you have never spend time on the Western Slope of Colorado, you haven't seen shredding winds. I spent the wee hours sewing a new set of cushons for the back yard loungers, the cushons were shredded by the wind.
Today was my baking day, I baked English muffins, the sandwich bread, and the bagels. Rising time is great to pair with sewing. Our daughter walked out ready for a dutch baby breakfast and exclaimed, "Mom, we are not poor, why redo the backyard loungers." I smiled, "I don't want to travel two hours to buy quality cushions and pay twice what I used. I also care about the environment. I shredded the old pillows I replaced. The covers are my old duvet cover. It took 45 minutes total time."
The eye rolling of our teen signaled to me that I needed another cup of coffee. The others in the family began to stir. My husband commented the loungers looked good. He was pleased with the savings of 200 hundred dollars for under 1 hour of time.
We are renting our tiny house again. A friend needed a place to stay after relocating from the South. They needed a place until July.
I made feta cheese today.
Our road trip disrupted my system. I am on a 3 day liquid fast. I like to do a reset every season or so.
