It is good to have and active and vibrant faith, but there may be times when we feel discouraged. Often in our hurried and busy lifestyles, the thing we need most is to get away from the noise, the day to day grind in order to better hear the voice of Our Lord and Our Friend.
We may even need to retreat for a short period. Jesus Himself exemplified this action many times. He would leave the crowds behind and find a quiet place of physical and spiritual rest. His purpose was not just to escape but to get a better perspective..
Anytime we lose our perspective, it may be our old self rising in us, and our obsession for control overcomes our willingness to submit to God's control. Faith in action is best served when we relinquish control back to Our Lord and Our Friend, and then we are able to take the risks necessary to build the His Kingdom.
So in times when we would like to crawl into a cave through discouragement, remember Our Heavenly Father has done all He can to express to us how much He cares for each one of us. Our ability to overcome discouragement and worry depends a little on us and a lot on Our Lord and Our Friend.
In these times we are all going to have, we need to reassure ourselves, of Who we are really serving. When we trust God, we rely on His character. Is He good? Is He just? Is He fair? Is He reliable? Is He faithful?
Faith in Action is serving a loving God. but sometimes discouragement comes, during these times we need take hold of scriptures like;
Psalm 27 verse 1: {Message Bible} "Light, space, zest — that's God! So with Him on my side I'm fearless, afraid of no one and nothing".
"The Lord is my light and salvation—whom should I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom should I be afraid"
God Bless.
