Not a lot of sewing has been going on here at the Quiltiferous household! Much of my time has been spent Spring Cleaning this month. However, I sat down for a few minutes this past Friday to put in some stitches on my Rowdy Flats Wall Hanging.
Friday is my designated sew day! I often give away my sew day to award a quilt for a service member, lunch with a friend, or just plain catch up from a busy week. But this past Friday I was waiting on my replacement fridge to be delivered. Since that entails waiting for a four-hour window, I spent part of that time making good progress on this wall hanging!
This pattern is part of the Rowdy Flats Library Quilt by the lovely Susan Smith in Australia. The pattern is difficult, at least for me at my skill level (beginner), and so I decided to stop at one block. I've tucked the pattern safely away and will definitely come back to it when I have more experience and a better choice of background fabric. I struggled to find this background, and I was looking for more of a linen texture.
The wall hanging is coming along nicely. I like it more as I quilt it more! The section you see will have a one-inch crosshatch, and I love the look of a crosshatch. The center portion with the leaves and bows is echo quilted, and it looks lovely too. It just goes to show that something pretty can come from cutting my losses!
I hope you're having a wonderful week so far! Mondays are my favorite, followed closely by my Friday sew day. I love new beginnings! When I think of Monday as a chance to start fresh and do new things, I get excited about it! Isn't it amazing that God is always giving us a fresh start each week and each morning? I pray you are able to start this week with intention to do His will in your life!
