I'm excited to wish you a Happy Resurrection Day! It's a time when we celebrate who Jesus was and is to us! I don't know about you, but I'm enamored with Jesus! I'm nothing special, but in Him, I'm a child of the King!
I know these are hard times for many people. Inflation is bad, jobs are scarce, and financially our country is in the dumpster. But God.....
God makes what we have enough. He comforts us even when times are tough. He is our Guide through difficulties, our shining Light. God will be your everything if you let Him. One of the things I love about the Lord is that no matter where you are, He sits with you in that place. It's a little like Job in the Bible. Job was in sackcloth and ashes after he lost everything, but God heard his prayers. In fact, his cleaned up, self-righteous friends were the ones in trouble by the end of the book of Job because they had not cried out to God. They thought they knew it all, but Job had it right. Job knew God had a plan for his life, regardless of how it looked to him and everyone else.
We could easily get down and think that our whole system has gone astray. Job lost everything he had, to include his wife. But when we focus on what God can do, and who He is, and what He has already done for each of us, our attitude can turn around quickly! In Job's case, the key was to cry out to the Lord, not blame Him.
Another key is to follow Paul's words in Philippians 4 and spend our time rejoicing and thinking on the good. God promises in the very next Scripture to give us peace for thinking on good, honest, pure things. Instead of focusing on the news and the next sensational story, let's focus on the unchangeable God that loves us and wants our good!
I hope you're focusing on the good things in your own life. Gratitude is one of the keys to true joy in Christ, and I wish that for each of you. I challenge you to think about good things, and to praise the Lord, and see if it doesn't bring you joy in your life! You don't have to wait until life is perfect to praise the Lord for what He's done! I'm wishing you pleasant thoughts and lovely times praising God!
