Daily writing prompt
Describe a risk you took that you do not regret.
A decade ago, I quit my job and moved across country. Honestly, I would still be working there if I hadn't moved across the country. No one thought I would pack up my house and move across the country. There was pool betting that I wouldn't move. The odds were 20 to 1. I was such a creature of habit that you could set a watch to where I would be.
A year prior to meeting my now husband, I had complicated relationship, well, it was more of a friendship that I ended. The complication was he was my friend, not boyfriend, He was interested in me as a romantic partner, I was not interested in him. He simply was not the one for me. He tried very hard to get me to marry him. He was very wealthy, however, he could never admit he was wrong. He would send a gift that would "say" sorry, he couldn't say the words, I am sorry, I was wrong. I had to laugh this morning when my friend called me to tell me that my friend has been married and divorced twice since our friendship.
I remember when I called to tell him that I was madly in love with who is now my husband. I had hoped he would wish me well. He told me, "I will always drop everything for you if it doesn't work out." I thought that was the saddest thing I ever heard.
