I woke up this morning to a lovely and unexpected review of Grow Damn It by Smith Vishwanath. Larry and I have been vacationing in Portugal, living on a riverboat that has been coasting down the Douro River for a week. We've been cycling along the tiered vineyards of Douro Valley, stopping at wineries, museums, and charming towns. My son Tony and his fiance Thalita joined us in the valley for some sightseeing before all of us returned to Lisbon to enjoy a few more days together.
Below are some pics of our adventure. I will be saving my deep observations of Portugal for Pedal Damn It but will post a summary when we return home. I haven't had access to the internet, so I apologize for disappearing for a week or two. I've missed a lot of your posts, but I will catch up soon.

But during the same time I got busy with hospital visits. And everybody knows how long it takes in a hospital when you're in for an executive health check. Between waiting times for various doctors, an entire day or two is spent. Luckily for me, I carried my iPad with me, and in it was Cheryl's book waiting to be read. There couldn't have been a better place to read 'Grow, Damn it,' but it wasn't like I thought. I was thinking of all the people I'd like to say, 'Grow, Damn It!' to. This book was telling me, 'Grow, Damn it!' And it did it kindly..."
