If this is your day for rest, like us all you still need encouragement. Be encouraged today, by this wonderful verse from Psalm 103 Verse 8:
Psalm 103 verse 8: {KJV} "The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy".
From The Message Bible: "God is sheer mercy and grace; not easily angered, He's rich in love".
The whole of Psalm 103 is most inspiring to read, like the entirety of God's Word.
The word's Mercy, Grace, Rich in Love: And when we read on through this Psalm, we find who is this Mercy, Grace and Love is directed to.
Verse 11: "Great is His Love towards those who fear Him".
Verse 13: "So The Lord has compassion {mercy} on those who fear Him".
Verse: 17: "The Lord's faithful love is towards those who fear Him".
Grace is God's unmerited favor: Romans 5 verse 8: "But God proves His Own love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us".
God's forgiveness has always required repentance on the part of sinners. It did in ancient times; it still does today.
The statement towards those who fear Him, is those who have a reverent respect for Him. The God that created us, longs to lavish His Compassion, Mercy and Love on us, and that is done through His Grace, His undeserved favor, in which Christ Jesus died on the Cross for us.
The only thing we need to do, to receive all He has for us, is to realize we fall short, of His ways, He has for us to live in relationship with Him, and repent, and ask for forgiveness.
If we do this with a genuine reverence for Him: Verse 12 of Psalm 103: tells us; "As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgression from us".
Reflect on the wonderment of another great Psalm. and scripture verse.
