Today was an early gardening day. We have 8 out of 14 gardening beds cleared out and turned over. We added fertiilzer and compost to each bed. I collected 1 gallon of goat milk. I collected 40 eggs today. I weeded my maibox planter and added marigold seedlings.
I planted Rosemary and Basil. icelaned out my mint and lemon balm beds.

I cannot wait for Fall even though, it is barely Spring. I want to collect rose hips and mushrooms.
One experiment this week was Ramen noodle in Mason jars. THey are great kid lunches or work lunch.
Add noodles to a mason jar, broth paste, and veggies. At lunch, add boliing water.

We are reducing what medicines we use over the counter. I have found teas, tintures, etc that are more effective than over the counter. My Clartin cost 26.99. I use two herbal remedy for less than 5 dollars. I do not get the drowsiness, and headache like I do with Clartin. Little tip a lot of women think the lines and bags around the eyes is not aging, but allergies.
Self-care doesn't have to expensive, It needs to happen as you need. A good book, music, a walk, or long soak in the tub.
A few meatless meals will be budget saver.

These are just a few items that a typical family would buy in a weekly shop and some biweekly. I make vegan mayo and butter for a quarter of the price. That is the key to thriving in these times. We harvest and sell our eggs. If you can make condiments, you can spend more in other areas. The areas that matter for healthy eating. We switched to resuable mentral products years ago, so I was surprised to see pads so pricey at store brand level.
Sign up for loyalty cards. You will get better prices and few items for free. City market sends me free items all the time. I donate what I can't use.
