Imagine
Ephesians 3:20 The Message "God can do anything….far more than you can imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams".
Imagination is powerful. It is the first step in doing. If we want to see God's will come to pass in our lives, we need to understand both the power of our imagination and the correct way to use it.
One dictionary description of "imagination" is 'the power or process of forming a mental image of something not real or present.' Imagination – the ability to see what isn't present.
Often, we associate imagination with childishness, thinking it's just fantasy – but fantasy isn't real whilst imagination is real. Imagination is the ability to see with the mind what you can't see with your eyes; for example using your imagination (your mind's eye) to recreate your childhood home.
Our imagination works with the information we give it – good or bad, right or wrong (Luke 6:45). Romans 12:2 exhorts us to renew our minds with the Word of God and then our imagination can help us to receive all we need from our Lord and Friend.
The imagination is to the heart what our physical eyes are to our bodies. The Holy Spirit is the artist, the heart is the canvas, the Word of God is the paint, and the brush is our tongue. Allow the Artist to create the image, the picture, the imagination inside you in line with the image of God in you. We are 'IN CHRIST" and in Him all things are possible.
Ephesians 1:18 May the eyes of our heart/understanding/(imagination – that part of our soul that creates pictures, images and visions)- be enlightened – that we may know what is the hope of His calling".
