It is a cool day in the dunes. I began my day watching Face the Nation and Meet the Press. I had hand sewing that needed to be completed. Our chickens are under the heat lamp. It is a bit chilly to put them in the coop.
What we have created on the homestead this week:
4 gallons of goat milk
6 pounds of salad greens
4 pounds of spinach
3 pounds of goat cheese
12 dozen eggs
I sewed two skirts for our daughter. Our son requested a new set of darker set of curtains. Our neighbor's flood lights are interrupting his sleep.
I resigned from my job as I have enough in my retirement account to do. We will be working solely from our home business. I have resigned several times from this position. I don't like using my telephone, computer, etc. They refuse to provide these things. There are plenty of work-from-home positions I can take.
The wind has picked up. I made a second holding shelf. It looked out of place with the white shelf beside it. I copied the design from Amazon. They wanted 50 dollars a piece per unit. I made two shelves with hinges, screws, wood, wood dowels, and leftover stains. It was an upcycle project from leftover materials. I saved a hundred dollars. I am constantly picking up free handles and hinges from estate sales. Our son broke his doorknob. I had a replacement available for his door. Cost 25 cents from an estate sale, a year ago; it saved us 15 dollars and a trip to town. Rural living requires a bit of planning ahead. In my New England life; I was within walking distance of all my needs.
