I finished my Spring refresh. I redid our reading nook in the living room. I build folding shelves from scrap wood and leftover stains. I removed another 45 books from the space. Our tiny library was filled with my discards. I was pleased to see my last load was already gone.
We are back to the time of year when we are purchasing our meat and much of our produce. My canning shelf will be empty by July 1. This is planned every year to rotate our stock.
Around the homestead, we have a family of house wrens that hatched under the front porch roof that hatched this morning.
We are still planting various crops. My lilacs are in full bloom. I miss my tiger lilies. I am going to plant some bulbs in the Fall.
What we have produced on the homestead this week:
4 gallons of goat milk
2 pounds of goat cheese
4 pounds of kale
2 pounds of spinach
kombucha 64 ounces
25 bulbs of garlic
10 bunches of scallions(regrown)
1 gallon of yogurt
I sewed new kitchen curtains, new shower, and bath mats.
One of our neighbors asked me how I could get so many things done in a day. I often pair tasks. I sew while I teach, attend my Zoom meetings, etc.
