I am bone-tired today. I was up recording all the leaking in our NEW roof and putting buckets down to measure where water was coming in. We had 4 bids. Did we take the lowest bid, No. We took the best price and time frame. We wanted it done before the rains and winds really came. The time frame was the winning factor. I stayed up until 4:30 a.m. I was taking notes and recording all the shoddy work. I got up at 7:30 a.m
Now, I am livid because of several issues over the weekend. Mothers will know what I am talking about here, there were the sounds of work being done, however, I could see that work wasn't being done. They left early on Saturday. I was seething. Cleanup was not done on Sunday. The contractor has not come for a face-to-face. The contractor next door is assessing the damage as I write this. He came to us because he heard me recording at 12:36 a.m. We didn't use him because he is working on two large housing projects.
Nevertheless, I had chores to do this morning. The goats, chickens, and pigs needed to be cared for. Our chicks are growing up. I put the grit in the food and fed them warm oatmeal. Our large hen house has 60 chickens, and I gathered 60 eggs.
The goals today were to start the sourdough starter again after the sourdough failed, make yogurt, bake bread, bake a cake, and make a chicken pot pie. I will be able to do everything on the list, except the sourdough. The weather is too cool. The only thing left to do on my lust is to make pot pie.
My husband asked why I didn't take a nap. If I do I will get a migraine cycle started. The best solution is to go through my day and go to bed at 10.
