Last month a close friend's mother passed away. It was not easy for him, perhaps nor for anyone else. Some suggested creating a life tree / river of life for the commemoration and a few of us worked on it. Perhaps the work could retain some of the emotions attached to the life and the relationships the life built - it touched people. It was difficult to install it - the pieces kept falling off - but finally they managed to do it. I could not be there for the commemoration. But it was heartening to see how the river flowed on that day, as a collective effort, and how it continued to flow into a scrapbook, as new hands kept joining the making of it, later on.
