The former actress's means to grow old with grace, to live well into her, golden, years of life, staying active in her life, off of the Front Page Sections, translated…
Thumbing across the United Daily News report of how Brigitte Lin's speaking at the commencement of Chingwha University, in the photo, she is nearing seventy, but, still full of grace, elegance, confidence, and quite, blissful.
Her speech was on "starting with our own happiness, then we can bring the happiness to others in their lives", shared the philosophies of her own life, encouraging the graduates of Chingwha University that "everybody plays an important role in the world, we all have our unique calling, we are all, unique, and, are all, 'limited editions'." With the passing of the years, her beauty didn't escape her, she'd, shown that, level of depth of her grace and, wisdom.
Lin's philosophy of life coincided with the concept of "Ikigai" in Japan. Ikigai stressed that we need to find a purpose and goal of our own lives, through balancing our own individual personal interests, our abilities, the demands from society, and economical returns, to fulfill that sense of satisfaction and bliss inside. Lin had challenged herself through her acting career, breaking through every single time she'd portrayed a role that's, assigned to her. From that young and innocent teen of "Outside the Window" to the antagonist in "The Legend of the Swordsman", she'd used her excellent acting skills, with the diverse roles she'd portrayed, become a legend in the Asian film industry. Her success ins not just from her own talents and hard work, but also from her constantly bettering herself and her skills.

Even as she'd stopped acting, Lin had never stopped learning and growing, she'd immersed herself into the literatures, and not-for-profit, shown the never-stopping to try something new, the forces of life. Having a healthy lifestyle is her key to staying graceful. She's intimately connected with her own next of kin, and this connection had given her a steady backup, as well as a home for her heart and soul too. The balance she'd found between her families and her career, allowed her to be more accepting of her own imperfections of the various roles she'd portrayed, to help her maintain that harmony inside.
With the coming of her age, Lin's wisdom and experiences grew; her essays were delicate and heartfelt, showed how observant she is of her life, and her own thought, as well as, human nature too. This saturation of her wisdom, allowed her to better cope with that heart of ease, as she grows older.
Lin's lecture taught us, that beauty isn't the appearances from without, but also, the strengths that came from within, and the attitude we carry in life. Her sense of self-confidence, her wisdom, her compassion, her means of staying healthy and agile, gave a new definition of growing older, that it's not just withering away, but, the increased wisdom, that came with the years.
So, this is how this actress is a perfect example of how to age gracefully, she'd kept herself well, enriched her mind, continued to learn new things, to keep her mind and body active through the years, and, she's able to, live outside the halos of what she was once, a star, an actress, that once, stood under the, spotlight. She'd found the bliss in living, ordinary, and her ability to adapt, to keep on learning new things, that's what's allowed her to, age, so very, gracefully. Truly an amazing woman!
