Sanctified wholly
1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 "And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it."
1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 Contemporary English Version 23 "And may the God of peace Himself sanctify you through and through [separate you from profane things, make you pure and wholly consecrated to God]; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved sound and complete [and found] blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah). 24 Faithful is He Who is calling you [to Himself] and utterly trustworthy, and He will also do it [fulfill His call by hallowing and keeping you]."
I find this Scripture encouraging and comforting. Our Lord and Friend, the God of peace is the One who calls us and He is faithful to separate us to Himself. Our whole spirit, soul (mind will emotions) and body, preserved blameless – sound and complete, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ: spirit/soul/body.
We can trust Him to complete what He has started. Our wonderful Father God has given us His Holy Spirit to live on the inside of us, (there is none who is closer). He will teach us, heal us and help us to yield, to forgive and have courage to rise again when we are knocked down. He comforts us and enables us to trust and to rest on His precious promises.
Who is this One who is going to preserve us wholly, blameless? He is the God of peace. Our Lord and Our Friend offers peace that passes understanding.
May the God of peace so flood you with His presence and love that you know that He is well able.
